Tour Overview

Welcome to the Bristol MET Portugal Tour 2021. This tour provides a perfect mix of leisure and basketball in a country known for exceptional food and weather. The basketball experience for our tour will be centered on the exceptional facilities at the Sunlive Basketball Academy and Sangalhos Desporto Basketball Club, one of the oldest clubs in Portugal. The tour will feature skill development and games against local teams, as well as an exciting leisure and cultural experiences.

The hotel complex is an English-speaking hotel deep in the heart of the Bairrada region, with panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. It features an outdoor pool, a games room and free internet access. The hotel serves traditional regional buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner, ensuring our players wont go hungry. The air-conditioned rooms include private bathrooms with showers and bathtubs and some feature balconies that overlook the hills, garden or pool.

Our leisure activities will focus on an excursion to Aveiro, as well as the opportunity to watch professional basketball games. During the other days the players will be able to chill out by the pool and enjoy the games room.

This tour has a perfect mix of basketball, leisure and team building and will offer a tremendous amount of excitement for the players and coaches involved.

This tour is an ALL INCLUSIVE package featuring:

• flights from a London airport to Porto
• airport transfers in Portugal and all in tour transport
• 5 days / 4 nights full board in a 4* hotel
• 2 basketball coaching clinics, 2 practices and 3 games
• breakfast, lunch and dinners
• excursion to Aveiro town and a professional basketball game
• use of other leisure facilities
• a BTM rep with you throughout the tour

Flight Details

Your flights will be on Easyjet as follows:

• Friday 12 Feb London Gatwick 09:40 - Porto 12:05
• Tuesday 16 Feb Porto 12:35 - London Gatwick 14:55

Group seat allocation will be requested and will be at the airlines discretion. All players will be restricted to hand luggage only. Coaches will have a hold bag.

Accommodation

Your accommodation is provided by:

• Hotel Estalagem de Sangalhos, a 4 star hotel located near Porto in Northern Portugal

The price is based on shared accommodation in twin or triple rooms. Single rooms can be requested at additional cost.

Payment Plan

The tour payment plan is as follows:

• £200 deposit per person by 30 July 2020
• £200 interim payment by 30 September 2020
• £220 final balance by 30 November 2020

Note: The college has raised money through fundraising that allows the final payment to be reduced by £20 per player.

Itinerary

On basketball days the team will have a chance to train in some great facilities, receive development clinics from outstanding foreign coaches and play games against quality local and international opposition.

An excursion to the local coastal town of Aveiro will allow the players soak up the Portuguese culture, as well as the chance to watch a live professional basketball game.

We ensure the tour is safe and secure by providing:

• health & safety processes including traveling, hydration, heat, excursions, accommodation and basketball

We are also a UK ATOL licensed tour operator and your tour payments are protected via trust accounts operated by Protected Trust Services (PTS). We have tour operator public and employee liability insurance which ensures your peace of mind with BTM as an organiser.
